The Pledge

Any new members to the MSP must recite the following pledge, confirming their loyalty to all that is holy in this world of fantasy football.

“I hereby commit to:

1. Commence a long-term relationship with the Magic Shot Paradise Fantasy Football League that shall withstand both the test of time as well as the trials and tribulations inherent to the avocation itself,

2. Pay all related dues in a timely fashion,

3. Respond to all league business – including, but not limited to, important commish emails, league proposals, and trade requests – promptly (generally meaning within 2-3 days tops),

4. Put forth my best effort to participate in a live draft, remotely or in person,

5. Manage my team intelligently and responsibly throughout the season, from beginning to end, despite any hardships that may occur, including, but not limited to, poor draft results, player injuries, severe emotional abuse from Mehul, unfortunate bye week alignment, or any other foreseeable or unforeseeable circumstance,

6. (upon winning a league championship) Accept the trophy graciously, demonstrate to it due reverence, and care for it tenderly, overseeing any necessary engravings, subsequent year’s shipping, and general upkeep/cleanliness,

7. Salute the flag of Virginia, with reverence and patriotic devotion to the ‘Mother of States and statesmen’ which it represents—the ‘Old Dominion,’ where liberty and independence were born – and devote myself dutifully to the wondrous Commonwealth itself and all of its accompanying glory.”
